Organizing Your Main Points
I thought the section in Chapter 8 about the different ways to organize your main points was very interesting and helpful. Whenever I am preparing for a speech I have usually used chronological order, because it is the easiet and I know how to use it. But while I was reading the chapter I found that narrative organization was really imteresting. My topic for the next speech is the history of the Titanic. A lot of people have heard of the Titanic, or seen the movie, so I think it may be cool to organize my speech in the narrative form. Cause and effect also caught my attention for the topic of the Titanic. For example what cause the Titnic to sink could be explained using this method of organization.

Your topic sounds great! I am excited to see how this one turns out. I havent chosen my topic yet, but I think I am going to change it up and challenge myself. I will choose my type of organization first, then apply a topic to it and see how successful I can be. Right now I am considering problem-solution pattern or narrative. I have never been great at telling stories but using narrative might help me. I made it a goal about a year ago to try and tell more stories because I was always the one who sat back and listened to everyone else. Once I choose my speech pattern i will find a great topic to go with it. good luck with yours.
